Bethany York

Background: Describing his life in his own words Pastor Wayne says: "As a senior college student my career plan was to get a Ph.D. in Mathematics and become a college professor. The only problem was this totally collided with the Lord's purpose for my life. After responding to God's clear call, I have given my life to serving the Lord and seeking to bless the Body of Christ. My passion has been to do everything I can to enable others to joyfully follow Jesus!

In broad strokes my heart's desire is:

    1.) to teach people to worship, and 

    2.) to teach people how to live. 

Personal life experiences have provided a wide basis of opportunity to apply Biblical truths and watch as God's Spirit has changed my life and the lives of others. 

I am married to my high school sweetheart (Chris). Together we have 4 children and 9 grandchildren.

SERVICE: Pastor Wayne's ministry began at Messiah Church in Shippensburg where for two years he served as a Student Assistant Pastor working with youth and learning the basics of ministry. 

During his third year of Seminary, he was appointed Pastor of State Line Church just north of Hagerstown, Maryland. 

After 14 years of service there, he was transferred to Otterbein Church in Mount Wolf where he served for 30 years. 

Though officially retired Pastor Wayne is delighted to continue his pastoral ministry with the people of Bethany!
