OUR COMMUNITY
Bethany Church is a people connected by our common desire to maintain and grow Christ-Centered relationships with others in the Body of Christ. Our desire is to build relationships with one another, with our community and with the world to the end that we might all grow up into Him who is the Head of the Body - Jesus Christ!
Our History
Jesus - "I will build my church…" Matthew 16:18
During the winter months of 1869, Michael Shellenberger, Sr., who owned the land that is now much of Mount Rose Cemetery in York, Pennsylvania, opened his home for worship services. By the fall of that year, those gathering had outgrown his home and he converted his carpenter shop into a small meeting house.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Jesus said, "If I be lifted up… I will draw all people unto me." - (John 12:32)
Our Sunday Worship experience focuses on exalting Jesus Christ! A gracious welcome awaits anyone who enters the doors of Bethany Church. Our return to live worship features a 9 AM Sunday Worship experience, with Sunday School offered at 10:15 a.m. We have 2 Adult classes and a Youth/Children class.

Attire ranges from dresses and suits to jeans, shorts, and T's. (In other words, "You do you!) Our service includes both organ driven hymns AND contemporary Christian music led by our Praise Team.
​
The service features a life-giving message designed to enable the application of Biblical Truth in daily living. Weekly bulletins contain a page for sermon notes for those wanting to record or retain insights gleaned from the Sunday messages.
